Field Frames started as an exploration into harmony and contrast between colours.
Beauty is in the details, the absence of the unnecessary can enhance the essence. Field Frames started as an exploration into how harmony can be created between colours. Every frame in the collection contains another composition of coloured textiles stretched over surfaces in different proportions. On the wall all the frames together will form another unity thanks to the systematical approach with which they were made. Coming closer, the tactility of the colours and the wooden frame surrounding the composition, add a layer of depth and detail.
'Field Frames allowed us to reuse the smallest residues of Planum that have been remains of the previous projects Chroma Columns and Quarantine Quilts in which bigger pieces have been applied.'
