For Dutch company Baars & Bloemhoff a new concept for the omnipresent sample book of solid coloured HPL ’s (High Pressure Laminates) has been developed. As ‘colour curators’ the studio has rearranged more than 300 samples that are normally arranged by the individual producers. Pfleiderer, Finsa, Abet Laminati, Homapal and Fenix NTM can be found in one overview. When thinking of the optimal color classification, the true role of 'colour curator' really came to the fore.
For this, the team has taken a good look at the architects and designers who use the Colour Book. After all, they often rely on colour and atmosphere instead of a code. That is why the book offers a distinctive combination of information and inspiration, in which colour and atmospheres are key.
From gray colours to soft sand tones, and from warm shades in pink, red and yellow to natural greens and blues, all color groups are represented. Each colour scheme is enhanced by atmospheric images that illustrate the theme, that are arranged by distinctive names such as 'Blush', 'Lagoon' or 'Chalk'. Next to the grid of smaller samples, larger samples accompany the photography.
